My same mom who hates Trump and agrees that this pandemic has shown us "some big things need to change." Yeah, the change is moving away from Ford and the right, not more of it.....

How do smart people buy into and believe obvious snake oil salesmen like Trump, O'Toole, Ford and Kenney?
I get that the PM has his warts, but the ghouls mentioned above and what they believe in are on a different level.

The extra shitty thing is that she called my wife because it's her birthday and my wife's grandmother passed away yesterday, but still, the conversation waded into a Trudeau rant, as it always does with my parents who I love, but definitely suffer from TDS.
FTR, I don't necessarily love having to defend the PM. I'm generally fine with him and the LPC but have a few issues.
The problem IMO is having to constantly fend off dumb, regressive stuff from the cons - it's holding us all back.
