Today is "International Day of Women and Girls in Science". Being a woman in science can be extremely challenging, with minority women especially burdened by either overt racism or unconscious bias. Let's take a moment to celebrate all the amazing women scientists in our lives!
Inspired by @samayanissanke's great thread of inspirational women at @GRAPPAinstitute, I would love to highlight some of the most inspirational women scientists in my life .
I met New Horizons in Physics Prize winner @samayanissanke when I was a graduate student in 2011. She has been an inspiration to me ever since: a strong leader doing excellent research, kind and attentive, always elevating the people around her. She now leads @GRAPPAinstitute.
