We already know that cheoljong have this tangling feeling towards soyong from the start. Imo, I can see his gaze for her gradually change from ep to ep and kudos to actor kim junghyun for succesfully pulled them well. Junghyun ssi, acting is hard but you manage to overcome it

His gaze seems so intense as the early eps, they show to us that cheoljong, the king lost his judgment towards soyong since she’s coming from the kim clan and he really despise her so much. Not gonna blame him on that, since he really traumatised by his childhood memories.

Right after he’s being knocked some sense (thanks to sobong), he give a thought about her actions before this and started to realise that he was blinded by his own grudge. I think this ep is the turning point when his gaze slowly turns soft whenever he sees soyong.

On his way to get to know his own wife, he couldnt help but to find soyong is eccentric (indeed) but yet she can be an interesting woman who can feel fully contented even with small tiny little things. I really love his expression here as I see new sides of him too

We see a new brand cheoljong in this ep since he choose to see different sides of soyong. One thing I noticed abt him is he’s really transparent abt his own feelings. He’s being frank to soyong and he even admit to his bro that his heart started to sway by her unintended actions.

His expression here tells us that he cant even bear losing her as he didnt even get to know her well. His despair is telling us that he would take the blame if anything happen to her as he mistreated her all this times bc this is cheoljong that we know. Even hwajin said that.

Here, Cheoljong is putting everything on line including himself after they dare to step on his position as the husband. And then, the sudden change of his gaze (in front jwageun) when being told that soyong is awake is

Starting from this, he just blatantly saying what he feels rather than supress it like before. If he curious on something, he just asked her straight away.

I think in ep 10 we get to see cheoljong’s wide smile. I mean his genuine smile without any cynical or prejudice towards soyong. He unwittingly tell us that soyong is the person who brings him happiness, not hwajin. And the proud face of him for knowing his wife

Soft looks of cheoljong is only for soyong. Enuff said. Be it soyong in his mind or anything he found that related to her, cheoljong will have this kinda soft look.
