Had a thought about systems that create LB production for #FFIDP
Alex Singleton was a player I was able to pick up off waivers in a ton of leagues this year and he became a plug and play starter down the stretch.

Jim Schwartz took over for Bill Davis in 2016. The best two IDP seasons for LBs were both under Schwartz however they weren’t very good. Low level LB2 seasons.
Most Eagles fans hated Gerry bc he wasn’t good although this is true he still produced for IDP managers.

As we know LB are the most coveted position in IDP leagues as they should be. The Eagles system has shown they are almost a LB by committee over the past 5 years. You are able to get production (not elite production by any means) at a cheaper cost.
So now as a IDP manager do you invest good startup draft capital in a player like Singleton who smashed but is mostly a nobody. As much as this game has insane recency bias I think we need to use data like this to show there’s always gunna be that next guy.
Now defenses are always changing and Jim Schwartz is no longer the DC so the question is does the defense change? Replacing him is Jonathan Gannon who comes from the Colts with Matt Eberflus. A system that has given us elite LB production.
Alex Singleton and the Eagles aren’t the only team that comes to mind when thinking about this. The early startups I’ve seen and draft capital being used on one year boom players just got me thinking.
Sometimes average players in player friendly systems are good IDP producers.

Being able to treat LBs as the equivalent of RBs in dynasty from the prespective of it being next man up mentality is probably the way to go more often than not. Especially if you’re not a player who is willing to risk high draft capital in IDPs over very good offensive players.
