See the EFL are writing open letters to social media. Need to get their own house in order before worrying about other businesses. They've allowed corrupt owners, inconsistent punishments, incompetent referees and countless shady shenanigans over the years and continue to do so.
Here's the thing with social media, it doesn't need an ID verification system. The police can already investigate (and have done so leading to arrests) people who make illegal statements on them. What it needs is a better algorithm and reporting function.
For example, they can automatically ban you for using the c word in a conversation between friends, but can't ban someone typing the n word? Really?
Equally, why can't you report paedophiles easily? Why are they allowed accounts that take pride in their behaviour?

Telling Carney she was a bad pundit was fair. Telling her to get back in the kitchen etc wasn't. It's sexist and misogynistic, but abuse?

It should be perfectly fine to pile on to people who you feel are blatantly wrong and using their platform in a way which annoys you, without the need to resorting to derogatory comments about racism or sex. But swearing at someone and telling them they are shit should be fair.
