I saw a video of Dr. Obeng, who took four hours to remove the gorilla glue from Tessicaâs hair. He invented a solution and then tested it on a mannequin.
Then I googled him.
Then I googled him.
Fun facts: He went to Harvard. His people are from Ghana. And heâs got a whole foundation dedicated to ârestoring emotional Stability through necessary surgeries.â
So two things hit me.
1. This is not his first time providing care to someone who has felt embarrassed. When I watched the clip of him summarizing the surgery, he seemed really warm and gentle. A stark contrast.

2. You canât tell me the aunties arenât starting a phone tree right now to brag on their nephew. âMmmHMMM Yes my nephew has invented a chemical compound even gorilla glue could not offer. He has always been so curious since a child we are so proud. Yes praise God amen.â
Anyhoo. I hope the tl finds something else to talk about now because she got what she needed materially. now she needs actual emotional support after this whole ordeal. And most ppl just wanted to get the tweets off or get a byline on either side, and that disgusts me.
Maybe we can all go back to, running our business â Miss One.
So looking forward to other conversations on here. So. Looking. Forward.
Regardless of how you feel about the ordeal, she definitely needs emotional support. Because she will forever be known as a viral moment. People made her a discussion topic and now sheâs going to need help processing THAT alongside all that was said by strangers.
Damn.
Damn.
Anyhoo. Them aunties blowing up the WhatsApp right now with âthey that wait on the lord shall renew their strength!â I just know it. And Iâm so very glad that he was able to provide loving compassionate care for free. Community.
In her own words, ââThe reason I went to the internet...was because I didnât know what else to do...I knew somebody out there, somebody, could have told me something. I didnât think for one second it was going to be everywhere...
... Who in they right mind would have just said, âOh, let me just spray this on my head and Iâm going to become famous overnight?â Never ⊠Who would want that?â
So glad this is over for her. The more I read the sadder I am on her behalf.
