I saw a video of Dr. Obeng, who took four hours to remove the gorilla glue from Tessica’s hair. He invented a solution and then tested it on a mannequin.

Then I googled him.
Fun facts: He went to Harvard. His people are from Ghana. And he’s got a whole foundation dedicated to “restoring emotional Stability through necessary surgeries.”
So two things hit me.
1. This is not his first time providing care to someone who has felt embarrassed. When I watched the clip of him summarizing the surgery, he seemed really warm and gentle. A stark contrast.
2. You can’t tell me the aunties aren’t starting a phone tree right now to brag on their nephew. “MmmHMMM Yes my nephew has invented a chemical compound even gorilla glue could not offer. He has always been so curious since a child we are so proud. Yes praise God amen.”
Anyhoo. I hope the tl finds something else to talk about now because she got what she needed materially. now she needs actual emotional support after this whole ordeal. And most ppl just wanted to get the tweets off or get a byline on either side, and that disgusts me.
Maybe we can all go back to, running our business — Miss One.
So looking forward to other conversations on here. So. Looking. Forward.
Regardless of how you feel about the ordeal, she definitely needs emotional support. Because she will forever be known as a viral moment. People made her a discussion topic and now she’s going to need help processing THAT alongside all that was said by strangers.

Anyhoo. Them aunties blowing up the WhatsApp right now with “they that wait on the lord shall renew their strength!” I just know it. And I’m so very glad that he was able to provide loving compassionate care for free. Community.

So glad this is over for her. The more I read the sadder I am on her behalf.
