Finds out the ICU has been expanded 8 times since she was last on 2 days ago
Sends the CT2 off to ED to review someone with a cough
ST6 in ICM asks her to explain the strong ion difference on the ward round
In a desperate attempt to find a treatment to help she suggests high dose steroids are started
Tries the FY1's attempt at a cup of tea that doesn't meet her exacting standards
Finds out there are 8 patients needing an ICU bed and there's only 1 available
Gets an email reminder that her mandatory training is overdue
Reviews the mess made by the ST3 whilst putting in a vascath
Puts the lunch break back until all the patients are seen
But buys a big round of afternoon coffees
Discuss the pros and cons of APRV with a fellow consultant
Team physio come in to help prone everyone
Reads a post by the covid-naysayers
Brings in some cake for the nurses
A patient finally gets discharged to the ward
Fills out a WBPA for the CT1
Buys some expensive face cream to try and restore the grooves imprinted by the FFP3 mask
Asked to keep a patient on ICU for another few days "for monitoring"
Gets invited to 20th Teams meeting of the day
Tries to go home at midnight
Finally finishes the week
