Put together my scouting schedule for the week. Today, we start with Cornell Powell from Clemson. Loved the live viewings but time to take a deeper look. Can’t wait!
Not only was Powell a beast on the football field, he was also a really good basketball player. He was on varsity all 4 years of HS and in his 77 career games, he averaged 17 points per game and 7.8 rebounds per game.
For starters, we get Cornell Powell at the bottom of the screen. He runs the hitch, Lawrence is getting blitzed and this one is an easy completion for the first down.
This is an absolute dime from Trevor Lawrence but Cornell Powell did a terrific job bringing this one down with one hand.
Replay on Powell hauling this in with one hand. Nice job tracking it too.
Pretty wild play on this one. Looks like they're running the swing screen but Lawrence pump fakes and finds Powell up the sideline. Great job by Powell attacking this and bring it down. I've always said he plays bigger than the 6'0 210 lbs he's listed at.
Don't care about any type of push-off or contact made by Powell. He's a physical WR and is gonna face it all the time. The fact that he brought this down is incredible! The dude can ball
