Old Syriac and Garshuni inscriptions in the Qadisha Valley, Lebanon (Thread)

The inscriptions at the Mar Asya Monastery, which are written in Estrangelo and Serto Syriac scripts contain a liturgical formula:

ܥܠ ܫܡܗ | By the name
ܕܐܠܗܗ ܢ ܢ ܚܝܐ | of our living God
ܠܥܠܡ | forever
ܐ ܡ | Amen (?)

Another inscription at the Monastery of Mar Asya contains the name of a man named Eusebius.

This Eusebius was probably a pilgrim, or a monk who lived in the monastery and noted his name with the year.

Eusebius, the sinner 1805 | ܚܘܫܒ ܚܛܝ ܐܦܗ

The church dedicated to Mart Shmuni (Saint Salome), An inscription in the Mart Shmuni church possibly read as "Saint James"

ܝܥܩܘ[ܒ؟] | James

The monastery of Our Lady of Qannubine, the seat of the Maronite patriarchate from AD 1440 until 1823. The Deisis inscriptions in the church of the monastery read in Garshuni:

Glory to God in the highest | ܐܠܡܓܪ ܠܠܗ ܦܝ ܐܠܥܠܐ

The Syriac inscription placed on the cross held by Christ reads as follows:

Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews | ܝܫܘܥ ܢܙܪ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܘܕ

Above the crown on top of the Virgin's head there is a two-line inscription written in Garshuni:

Come from Lebanon, oh my bride and you will be crowned |ܗܠܡܝ ܡܢ ܠܒܢܐܢ ܝܐ ܥܪܘܣܝ ܦܬܬܟܠܠܝܢ

Two inscriptions in Garshuni and Latin under the image of Saint Stephen:

Latin: S. STEPHANE ORAPRõ[NOBIS]
Garshuni: ܝܐ ܡܐܪ ܐܣܬܦܐܢܘܣ ܙܠܝ ܠܐܓ

Both translate to "Saint Stephan pray for us".

Underneath the figure of Holy Mary is a double inscription, written in Garshuni and Latin:

Latin: S. MARIÁ:ORAPROÑ[OBIS]
Garshuni: ܝܐ ܩܕܝܣܗ ܡܪܝܡ ܐܬܬ ܠܐܓܠܢܐ

Both inscriptions translate to "Holy Mary pray for us".
