Currently I’m training for the @IRONMANtri 70.3 in Atlantic City on 9/12
In October 2019 I decided to tackle an IM 70.3 & began training for the race in Eagleman scheduled for June 2020
Of course that was canceled, as was the 2020 race in AC

In the end I’ll train 23 months for this race (although I took a break to run a marathon last fall)
Mentally it has proved a huge challenge to train for so long & with such uncertainty but it’s made me a lot better
Here’s what my current training regimen looks like...

Here’s what my current training regimen looks like...
I do 6 tri sessions per week in my current phase - 2 swims, bikes, & runs
The sessions are 45 minutes to 2 hours
Each week usually about
3500 meters
40-60 miles
15-20 miles
As the season progresses the length, distance, and intensity of the sessions will increase

I do a lot of other activity to support this:
4 upper body workouts per week (push-ups, pull-ups, dips, light DBs)
2 short full body workouts per week
daily stretching
daily yoga
daily massage gun
daily 10k steps
foam rolling a few times per week

I hope to race before September but I got burned by a lot of them last year so at the moment I’m going to play it by ear
The endless training can feel like an ordeal at times but I know it’ll be worth it once I finally get a chance to put on my tri suit & compete again!
