when women’s public toilets were first built in London (against a lot of sexist backlash!) they were for upper class cis abled white ladies ONLY.

Goddamn bathroom cops have been policing femininity since the beginning!

People turn trans bodies into canvasses for them to paint their lurid, paranoid fantasies just like they do to the bodies of people of colour. It’s all the same shit.

That said, whilst noting these common sites of struggle let’s not forget that Whiteness and ‘Ladyness’ can make being trans easier. Christine Jorgensen got her own show; Betty Brown and Jim McHarris got arrested!
