CN: Childhood, trauma etc
I never really write but this one's for most of you really.
I know a lot of you (including me) didn't have a great childhood. You probably witnessed and experienced forms of violence, sadness and pain that no child deserves. 1/n
Maybe you didn't receive a lot of kindness or a gentle word; maybe you were even forgotten a little bit. Of course, you found a way to survive, through books, friends, art, alcohol, drugs. 2/n
Or maybe, your brain was so busy in survival mode, you never had the headspace to cultivate a taste in music, art and the so-called 'finer aspects' of living.
I see you, even if I don't know you. 3/n
You possibly grew up carrying this pain around. Then came another challenge. You see, society has always been obsessed with this urge to 'CREATE'. What did you do with your pain? Did you make art out of it? 4/n
Did your pain and depression find expression through paintings, pictures or songs, like the legendary artistes you grew up admiring?
Great if you did, but if you didn't, that's great too. 5/n
Think of the other things you did. Are you a kind and loving person inspite of never been shown kindness as a child? Do you know how to touch someone gently, even if all you've known are violent beatings? 6/n
Are you struggling with substance abuse, but trying to work through it everyday? Do you instinctively try to protect your beloveds, because you have mostly grown up feeling naked and alone?
7/n
If you have not let your pain turn you in a bitter shell of a person, then you have already done great things with your pain.
And even if I don't know you, I see you. Try and rest because your burden is rather heavy. Rest awhile.
FIN.
