Washington has spent close to $1 trillion on the war. Although the al Qaeda leader is also killed, no major attack on the U.S. homeland has been carried out by any group based in Afghanistan since 9/11.

The United States has been unable to end the violence or hand off the war to the Afghan authorities, and has no clue of what are they doing in Afghanistan, they still fight for nothing, and have no goal.
They r fighting costly war aimlessly.
