Nail on head.

Clubs set an ‘expectation level’ by the level of their spend.

Agents know what all the players are on. They talk to each other.

They know that they can get 5 grand a week at the bigger clubs and maybe 1 grand or so at @ASFCofficial because we don’t generate... https://twitter.com/northernsoul4/status/1359748120998010880
...the income.

That’s a fact of life.

But all the massive extra spend and wastefulness does is give the bigger club first choice.

Wage does not 100% determine quality of player.

The disparity in wages of 1000 to 5000 does not mean one player is 5 times as good as the other.
The lot will be in the 2000 to 3000 field.

And that’s why on the field, the cash difference in budget isn’t that obvious.

Many of our players are more than good enough to play at the big clubs.

They are also great lads grafting their way up the pyramid.

So we are at the...
...back of the queue when it comes to picking our squad.

And this gives me a really warm feeling.

Because I want these players to want to work hard for us in order to get a move to 5000 a week.

I want our club to give non league lads a chance

I want our club to be a pathway..
...for players.

I want our players to want to leave, knowing that the platform we give them and the coaching our staff showed them with is their opportunity.

I want our @ASFCacademy to make a difference in kids lives.

I want our @ASFCcommunity to make a difference in...
...the health and well being of townsfolk.

And you know what....

...after 5 years of effort our club is doing this.

And this is what makes me proud of everyone involved.

ITS NOT ALL ABOUT MONEY.

I won’t let @ASFCofficial go bust not because I want our club to race up the...
...pyramid. (Though I’d love to get promoted)

I won’t let it go bust because I know it’s loss would devastate the town and many people’s lives, young and old.

I know the real reason for @ASFCofficial and it isn’t there as a toy for me or any other owner to play with, lose a...
...potful of cash and throw to one side like an unwanted Christmas toy...

Neither is any other club.

You see over the next 50 years our club will have promotions, relegations, good years, bad years, good managers, bad managers, good owners, bad owners...

The regulations...
...have to take this into account.

They don’t now.

Clubs are expendable....

Clubs have to be able to survive all the above.

That’s the challenge.

And that should be the ‘core value’ of any future regulations from those running the game.
Good morning BTW.
