to the same extent writers would benefit from publications that market, edit, and monetize our work for us— if only they also paid fairly, hired fairly, and respected labor organizing/protections— porn performers should also be benefiting from studios in analogous ways
which is to say, these platforms provide better work conditions than those available before, but they’re still not sustainable alternatives or even real solutions to what was broken about each industry
atomizing labor is bad! making a single person liable for the entirety of a product’s success and failure is bad! creating art that you live off of without a well-organized structure of support from similar workers is bad!
