There was such a zealous rush by the center left on here to foreground well off management types and scrub all the rest in order to dunk on 'economic anxiety' one last time, but this was obvious even from just scratching the surface. https://twitter.com/matthewstoller/status/1359542969611780097
The Olympic swimmer had been homeless for ten months, adrift in his life for years after struggling to adapt t post-sporting life; the guy incorrectly doxxed by twitter as a prominent neo-nazi turned out to be some young Alabama nobody twitch streamer with a drug rap sheet.
One of the "zip ties" guys was a laid off Nashville bartender with further legal problems, who traveled to DC with his mom, a nurse. The so-called "Shaman" was longterm unemployed, a 30-something failed voice actor & navy vet who got evicted from his last apartment two years ago.
The guy who wore his work security badge for a direct mail marketing company (obviously got fired), had his former workplace from earlier in the year, a donut shop, post about his disability accommodations, before said donut shop got shamed into deleting its FB post by employees.
It goes on and on like this, and the point I'm making here isn't apologetic, but to understand the appeal. Hard to address something if you don't understand it, and what a lot of twitter identified to dunk on was self-satisfying but largely wrong.
