Why you should not interact with antis: a thread for ALL fandoms
All tweets that antis make are made for attention. If person A hates group B, then person A most likely does not follow the group or fans of the group. Now, why would person A go out of their way to check on what group B is doing and then make a tweet about it? ATTENTION
They want attention. They want mutual haters to agree with them and fans of Group B to be mad and increase their interactions. Most of the time such tweets have no evidence and are designed to make people mad. So what should you do when you come across such a tweet?
Do NOT get mad. Block, and report the account. That one tweet made by a nobody on twitter is not gonna directly affect the group you stan. It will affect them if you decide to ratio the tweet and now bring that tweet into hundreds of other people’s timelines.
Note on ratioing tweets: Believe it or not, people get a thrill out of being ratioed because they suddenly have all this attention. They literally have an adrenaline rush.
If you were to go ahead and start this clap back war with an anti, you are gonna face unnecessary stress, anxiety and will dig yourself into a deeper hole. You are ruining your own mood.
REPORT the account. The satisfaction you will get when twitter sends out the notification “userXYZ has been suspended” will be much, much better than making that comeback. Not to mention the person behind that USELESS piece of opinion will also be gone.
If antis begin to learn that saying hateful things will only get their account suspended, then they are most likely to not create the tweet.
Be a decent human being. Value other people’s opinions. If you do not like a group, simply distance yourself from the group (unless they are problematic). No one is asking you for your opinion. Do not go and drag a group just because they do not fit your personal preferences.
The only exception to this is if the group proves to be problematic. If a group is involved in a display of racism, cultural appropriation, sexism, ableism, homophobia etc, then by all means raise awareness of the issue and tweet about it if you’d like.
However, before you do such a thing, DO YOUR RESEARCH. Do not just jump on the bandwagon because “oomf said”. More misinformation than actual facts spreads on twitter. How would you feel if your favs were under fire for a false accusation? Understand the situation first.
It is dumb to see fandoms constantly fighting each other over literally nothing. Y’all look like fools. Focus on your favs, be a mature human being. And if you cannot respect people’s opinion, get off twitter. Im sure your favs do not want you either.
In conclusion. Do not be an anti, and do not interact with antis.
