This clip is making the rounds on reddit again and it got me thinking about how nuts the summer of 2016 was.

It was my first year living downtown, and in a few short months we had Hollywood productions, the RNC, Cavs championship + parade, and the World Series. What a time.
Going for a walk and stumbling upon a movie set or seeing a controlled explosion down the street was admittedly cool as hell.
June 19: I was in San Francisco for Game 7 and had to miss the celebration back home, but seeing this paper in the hotel lobby the next morning was worth it.
June 21: Flew into CLE at 3am to see these signs at baggage claim and managed to snag a shirt—literally the only thing being sold at the airport at 3am.
Later that day: this
The very next day: THIS
THIS
AND 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒
THE CAPTION REMAINS TRUE.
And just a couple weeks after all of that, the RNC.

While what followed was a complete disaster that nearly brought about an end to the republic, those couple weeks here in Cleveland were certainly a cool experience.
Fast forward to October 13: @BarackObama swings through downtown
October 19: the @Indians win the ALCS.

(And I JUST realized that I captured the exact moment that happened with Santana’s catch)
October 23: America’s sweetheart @tomhanks drops a “Go Tribe” on SNL
November 2, 11:13pm, Hodge’s patio:

We all know how it would end just a short time later, but hot damn was it a fun ride.
Somehow in that same period I also managed to walk into a Kyrie commercial, meet @mradamscott, sit on a stage with @HillaryClinton, and party with the mascots on the highway(?).

Nothing will top that year.
