Jersey rehab project. Got a few small jerseys from @daveyboy604 including this North Stars one. Turns out it’s an adult M and fits me. The back has heat pressed numbers in bad condition, but the jersey is in good shape.
I decided a twill coverup was in order. The original owner made a great number choice, but the serif font means I can’t do an accurate version of the awesome block shadow North Stars numbers. That little piece sticks out.
I decided 28 was the best option, as it covered the most, plus the two openings were small.
So what I did was graft some of the original fabric to where the holes in the 8 are, otherwise the original 7 would show through. I patched the holes with a lighter green fabric. When the 8 was sewn in place, it looks stock. I used chalk to mark the 8.
Here’s how it looks - can’t tell from the outside, looks stock. Inside is a bit of a mess but not too bad. Working on the sleeve numbers and nameplate tonight.
