i can't help but think that joss whedon baited & used the lgbt community to further his cause as a "progressive" w/ the willow-tara relationship. A short thread.
Willow went from crushing on xander for a long time to a relationship w/ oz. In the ep something blue, willow is grieving & angry over the breakup w/ oz. The very next ep is hush, in which joss wrote/directed & where willow/tara begins
I found it so odd how quickly willow went from still wanting a man one ep to starting to all of a sudden like a woman the very next ep. It didn't seem like a natural transition to me. I think joss wanted to bring in lgbt representation to show how "progressive" he was
Fast-fwd to seeing red. Tara got killed right when Amber was added to the main cast. Even though he wasn't showrunner s6, it's something joss wanted to do since the beginning of the show. Not only is a lgbt character killed off, but now Amber Benson confirms he treated her badly
