Bitcoin:

I'm happy to see people make money.

Even if I consider it doubtful, my bigger concern is people getting used to making money without adding any value to the economy.

Such money, by definition has no Barakah.
Some pious folk will spend it on their families and on righteousness, but most others including most Muslims, will grow accustomed to it and demand it to satisfy their desires & will see doing work as a stupidity beneath their dignity.
They will fight over free money instead of earning themselves.

They will be a curse on Islam and on humanity & I am not looking forward to it.

This is why I'm happy for you making money but not able to share your enthusiasm for bitcoin.
The love of money, which is intensified by not having to work, having once taken up residence in your heart, like the Crew of the Mayflower in Plymouth Rock, leaving the Indians to wonder what's wrong with these people, but only once it is too late...
By the way, there's no reason a cryptocurrency can't be tied to real commodity & traded in order to give it unambiguous legitimacy in the Shari'ah.

The sad tale of self-imposed irrelevance due our lack of sacred imagination & spiritual courage is one we can't blame on others.
