Ya know, a lot of Black creators get side eye for playing D&D or making D&D content while at the same time getting no support for doing almost anything else. People trying to make a living cant get by on platitudes.
Some people question why I dont care when other PoC profit off of D&D and I'm like, "Did you give them any other options?"
Lots of creators live on supporters alone without a hasbro behind them. If you really wanted to put in the effort, 2000 people could show up 3 days a week on someone's stream and change a life in a flash. But that only happens after severe harassment or violence. And it dont last
This isnt a callout like "fuck all of you for not banding together" kinda shit. It's more of a wakeup call to the amount of power you actually have in supporting Black creators, and how little it's used. Use it. Tweeting BLM and RTing shit about slavery ain't it. At least imo.
I hear a lot of "I dont have money" or "I'm just so burnt out myself" and those are legit. But dont lessen that legitimacy by deflecting where your spare energy is going when you have it to give. Your spare dollars. Your viewing time. Your sharing with friends. Alla that.
Go into your discord server and find 29 other people. Go into a Black ttrpg creators stream and talk or AFK or whatever. Shit literally changes lives. Use that people power. Do things as a collective. Targeted assistance campaigns. We have plenty of the opposite.
