It's interesting that Historia recalled this memory of Ymir holding a leaf when she said "when I see someone crying, saying no one needs them, I want to tell them it's not true" (after Eren said he didn't need to happen). Likewise, Armin found a leaf that reminded him of that
time when he was racing towards a tree with Eren and Mikasa. He started talking about how even these trivial moments were worth of experiencing and living for. Life isn't just about "multiplying," living is about moments we as humans treasure. Life is a precious journey we
deserve to go through despite it including pain and all of us having to die someday as finite beings. That's also why saving other people's lives, whether him and the others know them or not, isn't pointless. They are on their right to exist and treasure their own moments.
This also reminds me of Eren's struggle about Ramzi, because, why saving the kid when he was going to die later by his own hand (feet), anyway? In the end, it wasn't just about justice or him not being able to change what he saw. It went beyond that, but coudn't he see it?
Perhaps, after him and his friends were invited to Ramzi's tent, he kind of got it for a bit?? The preciousness of shared moments, of different people and existences making memories together despite not understanding a word, despite their lives having to end or change later.
Mikasa lost her parents early in life and thought, where could she go from there? She lost her home in the cruel world, where everything was meant to die someday, but then the kid who saved her life reminded her the world was still a nice place to live in. It was just a moment,
nothing but a simple yet precious action by a child that made her realize there was still some beauty and warmth left for her, a home to go to. Life was worth living again. She got a new home with Eren, was loved by Carla and Grisha, met Armin and everyone else important to her.
Historia related to Eren when he said he never needed to happen. She experienced that feeling and was told that by her own mother. She then met Frieda, Ymir and the others and knew affection. She learned her life was worth living despite ppl trying to make her believe otherwise.
Ymir once also thought she should've never been born. When she was given a second chance, she lived for herself (as she wished) for a while. She loved Historia, did what she felt was right and, due to her compassionate nature, she died as she tried to save other humans twice.
Existing wasn't *as* bad or meaningless as Zeke used to think it was. It allowed him to experience joy with Ksaver so perhaps, if given the chance, being born into this world again would be fine. After realizing it, he even took a moment to appreciate such a detail as a nice day.
Back to the first tweet, I guess the tree leaf hold by both Ymir and Armin could be a hint towards the same topic: life may have happened by chance, yet existence isn't some mistake nor a meaningless thing. Being able to live and actually living is some sort of miracle in itself.
