About two/three weeks after parents/grandparents are vaccinated with their second shot we will all start to visit them. And we should. That’s the real rolling deadline not an arbitrary date in the calendar anymore. We are enduring lockdown to save our own parents not society.

Most people are binary thinkers. If you are going to convince them that vaccines are the solution they need them to be just that to surmount any nervousness they have about them. If you then water down that message with they are only a partial solution it undermines faith in them

I wish it were otherwise and the subtlety and the complexity and nuance of the situation could bring everyone along but it won’t. We are gonna make these decisions on an emotional level and listen to whoever says they will get out of our way. I wish it wasn’t so but it is

I think we were blessed with the technocrat centrist science led Govt we had at the beginning of the outbreak but if they can’t hear the ticking getting louder they will be replaced with a populist pandering Govt who are just smart enough to play our emotional needs like a banjo

Its a gratuitous humble brag but I feel like I’m a dunning kruger interpreter. Like I’m top of the dumb half of the country but hang out with the smart half. Miscommunication between those halves is the fault line of politics. We aren’t led by logic, we do identity and emotions
