Here are some books that illustrate America's systemic racist practices and their everlasting aftermath.

I’m Still Here by Austin Channing Brown

Austin Brown's debut, is an eye-opening book about how some people in the United States still struggle for acceptance.
Hood Feminism by Mikki Kendall.

This book accounts the reality of which too often the focus of mainstream feminism is not on basic survival for the many, but on increasing privilege for the few.
Stamped from the Beginning by Ibram X. Kendi.

Stamped from the Beginning uses the life stories of five major American intellectuals to offer a window into the contentious debates between assimilationists and segregationists and between racists and antiracists.
Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents
by Isabel Wilkerson.

Wilkerson illustrates how America today and throughout its history has been shaped by a hidden caste system, a rigid hierarchy of human rankings.
The Color of Money: Black Banks and the Racial Wealth Gap, by Mehrsa Baradaran.

The Color of Money pursues the persistence of this racial wealth gap by focusing on the generators of wealth in the Black community.
