Point made by @Mooroo4 perfectly sums it up of what we are as nation.
We only realise someone is a HERO, once they are gone. What did we do all these years. No one bothered to raise voice. He kept on saying. A handful of people who can be called as "passionate" 1/n

followed or realised that man was a hero. Only specific group of people who realised what he was when he was with us. Something as small as documentary before he was there, media channels demanded money for the same documentary and are now begging the other way 2/n
Jehan Baig, Amir Mehdi, Karim Meherban.
Even when you watch the movie, "The summit" or see documentary such about 2008 K2 incident. They truly mention Jehan Baig and that too his incident right before he dies. Karim Meherban isnt even given a story or any angle 3/n

anywhere. Only thing you know is a picture. But you see stories of Rolf and Ger Mcdonell or Roivjenn in intricate details. They are to blame as much as. It is us who are responsible for this unfair treatment.

They do it because it is ONLY option of earning. The biggest thing these people don't demand a plot in DHA or to give them infinite wealth. They demand respect and sources and platform that gives them their due right to earn what is rightfully theirs. 5/n
We can learn from Nepali's or Nepali Sherpas. Govt needs to step in. They need to step in to stop exploitation of these HAP's. There are only 2 proper reported incidents where the foreigeners truly helped in setting up a fund for them. 6/n
One example of such atrocity is when Japanes came for K2. They took Pakistani HAP's with them right up until summit. Then they stopped them stating that only we Japanese will summit this. Leaving behind those HAP's. But karma is a bitch. 7/n
And they had to beg those same HAP's on their return to escort them safely for descending. As soon as they came bacl to Base camp. Nothing. Nada. If the govt or any ruling body backs them up. Those japanese or other mountaineers who come to Pakistan can never do this. 8/n
Even now nobody is learning. Fake accounts are at large. Exploiting this tragedy to increase followers. Media is chasing stories to sell a tragedy. We will pray for a day or two and that's it. 9/n
. @GovtofPakistan must be stepping in to setup a system for these HAP's to have a better future. These HAP's are only provided an insurance of 2000$ that too only in case of death. Noting in case of injury. For futher information do look at articles by @kamranonbike 10/n
A documentary on these HAP's named as "K2 and the invisible footmen" describes how cruel the conditons are for these HAP's. How a promised weight of 25 kg's is exceeded to 40kgs on normal basis. How hard it is from Askole to Basecamp. 11/n
A system has to be in place.
I can only say for ouselves that we do raise voice for them in whatever capacity to not only appreciate them but give them their due recoginiton and respect. Read on them and try to help them in what ever respectable way you can for them 12/n
