10 Single Sentence Writing Tips

1) Show, Don't Tell
2) Character Dictates Plot
3) Visualise the final scene and work backwards to create the structure
4) The first scene and the last scene are mirrors.
5) A great story should contain both surprises and have a sense of inevitability to it- things couldn't have happened differently.
6) Great stories are survival information encoded via emotion for the benefit of future generations.
7) If you want the audience to feel it, you have to feel it yourself first.
8) 'Writing is an act of faith, not a trick of grammar'
9) Flow is blocked by ego.
10) It's not about you, it's about the audience.
