@RepJoeNeguse: Trump is doing everything he possibly can to overturn the election.

FIRST he begins with the courts. A legitimate avenue to challenge the election.

—> BUT Trump ignores all of the courts’ adverse rulings.

Second - Trump tries to pressure state election officials to block election results for Joe Biden.

Third, he threatens elections officials and tells them to change the votes and make him the winner - even threatening criminal penalties if they don’t comply.

3. Neguse:

Next Trump had the DOJ investigate his claims. They found no evidential support.

Then he tried to persuade members of Congress to block certification of the election with attacks in public forums.

(Many GOP echoed and supported Trump’s conspiracy theories.)

4. Neguse:

The POTUS then tried to intimidate the Vice President of the United States to refuse to certify the election and send it back to the states, but his efforts failed again.

So Trump turned to his MAGA base and told them to STOP THE STEAL and FIGHT LIKE HELL.

5. Neguse: People listened to Trump.

ARMED supporters surrounded elections officials’ homes.

He gave his “Trump Army” 18 days advanced notice.

Trump told them to ‘Save the Date’ - January 6th.

Rally was scheduled at *the exact same time* as Congress was certifying the election results.

7. Neguse: Donald Trump used his speech as a CALL TO ARMS. It was not rhetorical.

He assembled the mob.
He summoned the mob.
He incited the mob.

“We were invited by the President of the United States!”

“President Trump requested that we be in D.C. on the 6th.”

8. Premeditated MURDER:

Rioters “would have KILLED @VP45 if given the chance.”

“Hang Mike Pence! Hang Mike Pence!”

“We were looking for Nancy [Pelosi] to shoot her in the frigging brain but we didn’t find her.”

“Nancy would have been torn into little pieces...”

Dec 26:

The POTUS invited his 70 Million Twitter followers to his protest on January 6th - the day Congress would certify the election - “the day they needed to show up and fight,” @RepSwalwell.

Trump “directed all the rage he had incited to January 6th.”

Trump sends out invites.

The revolt was carefully planned.

The evidence is OVERWHELMING.

Pres. Trump’s conduct leading up to Jan 6th was deliberate, planned, and premeditated.

This was not one speech, not one tweet. It was dozens in rapid succession with specific details.

The night before the attack, he warned us:

He made them believe they were robbed of the vote and they would do anything to stop the certification.

He incited them, to steal the election - for himself.
