There would absolutely be more women in trades and “blue collar” fields if we were not constantly treated with hostility just for doing our jobs.
It’s not just these fields either that we have to face these issues but MAN oh man today is going to be the day I lose my mind.
Had a dude (I don’t work for) come up to me at a job site (he doesn’t run) to ask me if I’m qualified to do my job (which yeah literally my badge says so) and kept asking me random question and finally said “oh okay just making sure”

He didn’t ask my male coworkers.
Last week, I asked a dude to hand me a flat head screw driver and he said “okay and you know the difference between a flat head and Phillips right”

I’m more qualified that him.
Had another dude last week ask my supervisor at the job site if it was “bring your daughter to work day”

Later he asked if I was single.
Do wanna add: it’s never my co workers. I get contracted to industrial types of sites so it’s always the workers there. My coworkers would NEVER and always quick to call that out if it happens.
No I’ll never leave the line of work I’m in. I’m fueled by pure spite at this point.
This is how I’m address dudes at work for the rest of my career
