‼️AOT MANGA SPOILERS‼️

@ilymir_EZGbora helped me out with this theory and I think it’s highly likely that some of the things I mention will happen.

Thread below and I would really like to know what you guys think about this
Some people weren’t the biggest fans of this speech in 134 and I can understand why. It felt like Isayama was trying to redeem the Marleyan’s before the big bad guy killed them all. However, I think that this is going to be extremely ironic in hindsight
When I first read this dialogue I believed that this was said out of fear instead of it being a genuine change within them. Even the new chapter put emphasis on fear and how it’s a punishment for those faced with death. In this situation Eren is the death that they have to face
And then this happened in 136. At first I thought, was is the purpose of this? Is Isayama going to show us yet again that the Marleyan’s changed + creating fake tension that will go nowhere? We also had a similar fake-out with Annie’s dad in 125
Now that the rumbling has stopped and Eren’s Titan is demolished, the death that they were staring in the face is seemingly gone. Now here’s the real test, did the Marleyan’s truly ever change, or are they going to show their true colours? Personally, I think it’s the 2nd option
Isayama will show us that despite the alliance putting their own differences aside and defeating Eren, the cycle of hatred will never truly end. I think several people from both sides will die, and the dialogue between Karina and Annie’s dad is so blatant
Imo I think things have been a bit too perfect for the alliance. They felt invincible for most of the fight and the way they’ve been painted has been more on the heroic side. Which is fine, but we need the opposing perspective. “This is a cruel world, and yet so beautiful”.
And here is where the whole “alliance look like heroes”, nonsense will go away. Their win, will have serious repercussions. They saved the world, but they have absolutely doomed the Eldians + Paradis and I’m very certain that this is what Isayama will explore in the next 2 chps
And I’m also concerned about Eren’s role in all of this. He didn’t show up once in the last 3 chapters, despite saying this in 133. It’s a shame, because his presence would’ve made the fight significantly more interesting, even if he lost. I hope Isayama justices this absence
Anyway, let me know your thoughts! I’m pretty certain that Isayama isn’t going to flat out abandon what was present in Marley/WFP etc, just for the sake of a happier ending. There’s going to be thematic consistency unlike some fumbling merchants suggest
