I'm digging deeper into the 2021 ROOKIE RBS

@TheUndroppables

And what I am finding more often than not...

Najae Harris isn't at the top of anything.

Or near the top for that matter.

(a thread)
I have about 40+ 2021 RB Rookies' 2019 and 2020 seasons in my model getting stats from different places.

General overview is this...

Harris does not look athletic or special.

It definitely took me a-back...I try to be as objective as possible...love Harris' film.
Etienne does look good. Film and stats.

Javonte might end up being my RB1. Love both his film and stats.

Rhamondre is also up there. Khalil Herbert👇 looks underrated. I haven't seen enough film yet.
Trey Ragas👇, statistically, looks like the better Louisiana back (not Elijah Mitchell)

Mitchell isn't bad - just statistically not as good.

here's an example...ELUSIVE RATING...more to come later.
ELUSIVE RATING TOP 12 PFF

first of all the PFF Elusive Rating defined:

The PFF Elusive Rating distills the success and impact of a runner with the ball independently of the blocking in front of him by looking at how hard he was to bring down.
1. Khalil Herbert2019 218.3 (score)

2. Travis Etienne2019 213.9

3. Javonte Williams👇 2020 212.8

4. Trey Ragas 2019 175.5
5. Jaret Patterson 2020 155.8

6. Javonte Williams 2019 140.6

7. Trey Ragas 2020 137.9

8. Rhamondre Stevenson👇 2020 137.3
9. Michael Carter 2020 135.1

10. R Stevenson 2019 134.6

11. Stephen Carr 👇 2019 130.6

12. Khalil Herbert 2020 126.3
Najae Harris had 26 TDs this past season. He dominated. He's big. He's versatile. And honestly to me, looks great on tape. However, many if not all important markers do not favor him. He's somehow usurped Etienne and now is generally the consensus #1 RB.
Javonte Will, Michael Carter, Herbert, Stevenson, Sermon, Ragas, DeAndre Torrey, and Etienne look way more athletic both in terms of speed, quickness and elusiveness.

so does Hubbard, Gainwell, Hawkins, Jaret Patterson👇.
I'm not trying to be contrarian but perhaps people are a bit too excited by things like 'Bama, bell-cow sized...

He does look great on film to me. But many others do. There's more to life than just stats and his draft capital will only help.
But...this thread is more of a cautionary tale...

Remember he's no spring chicken.

Some respond with "yeah, I don't care...just want him and his rookie contract then he's whatever."

However, most 23 year old rookies haven't been overly successful AT ALL...EVER

(Ke'Shawn)👇
not saying he's a bust. Just looking at numbers.

I'm out on Najae...

just not necessarily ALL IN.

Thanks for reading. I'll be posting more
