Some ideas in social are packets that can live in lots of different kinds of networks. Stories don't have to be in Snapchat to make sense.
But sometimes the network is the point - you can't clone tweets into other networks. Same w/ Tiktok, probably: the network is the point
People have done audio chat for ever, but the differences are in the mechanics and the network. Clubhouse isn't Discord any more than Instagram was Flickr. So, maybe you could add a Clubhouse tab to Facebook, but it wouldn't be the same network
Instagram and WhatsApp unbundled Facebook, but Clubhouse and Substack are trying to unbundle Twitter. Equally, LinkedIn adding newsletters makes far more sense for its 'platform for content-marketing' strategy than Facebook doing the same.
In other words, sometimes the feature works in any network, and sometimes the network is the feature.
Something very similar is going on right now in productivity and video calls - zoom made video calls really easy, but video calls can be added to anything. What matters is what you do with them
