Ray was born in London in 1956 and started out in football at the legendary Sunday league club @Senrab_FC before becoming an apprentice at the mighty @ChelseaFC. Ray would make his first team debut aged just 17.
Ray came into the team just as many key, senior players were leaving and he was given the great honour of becoming our youngest ever captain. He was just 18 years old! Ray would prove a worthy captain for the next four years, guiding us to promotion and keeping us in Division 1!
Ray's suave looks made him the rather unlikely pin up (no offence Ray). He was becoming quite the celebrity and upon our relegation back to Division 2, @ManUtd came in with a stack of cash and acquired Ray after 179 apps and 30 goals for our great club!
As a player, we fondly remember Ray as a very talented player with a fantastic range of passing. He was also quite the long distance goal scorer too! As a coach working with great managers such as Vialli, Hiddink and King Carlo Ancellotti, Ray contributed enormously to our club!
