I really, really need white "allies" to not come in as the quiet, peaceful voice of reason when PoC are rightfully angry. You're not doing anything by saying to another white person, "Here, I'll gently explain this for you," except making PoC look angrier by default.
This only results in responses like I'm seeing right now: "OMG, THANK YOU FOR YOUR KINDNESS IN YOUR RESPONSES."

while the same person ignores, belittles and otherwise acts attacked by the same thing being said by PoC.

Your wording just implies that, "Hey, I'm your skinfolk. These Black and brown people aren't speaking your language, not the way I can."

Addendum: yes, it helps take labor off PoC shoulders when allies step in and legitimately mean to help in a situation.

This is a grown person who stepped in it. They were racist. They were wrong. You don't have to coddle. You can speak as straightforward as we are, and get the point home.
