I’m over here thinking about how all of these bands have touched my life immensely and I want them all to get in. Even though I don’t care about the rnr HOF...which is in Ohio. Which is the state where Devo is from. My favorite Devo song is “gates of steel”
I was 15 when news broke of Kurt Cobain’s death, which was the first time I cried upon learning of a death. I was still shut off emotionally a year later when foo fighters put out Call to Arms & couldn’t appreciate it. Thankfully now I see how it’s amazing
The Go-Go’s are dear to me because holy shit these ladies were some OG Pioneerwomen!! While the Slits and X-Ray Spex were smashing down walls and ceilings all over the UK, the Go-Go’s were chief among the all-female bands doing the same here in the states
My aunt is an evangelical nut job who has been telling my mom that I’ve been possessed by the devil for as long as I can remember just because I was a little metalhead. So I’m dedicating Iron Maiden’s “Number of the Beast” to my ratched ass Aunt Mercedes!
