Absolutely awful. Whedon's shows were enormously important to me discovering my voice, and I hate that their importance to me and so many others created a too-long impervious shield around him that allowed him to do shit like this. https://twitter.com/AllCharisma/status/1359537746843365381
So happy for Ray Fisher, Charisma Carpenter, and Kai Cole for taking huge risks to expose his toxic behavior.

You don't need to be a bad person to make good art, reminder 1,000.
I'm pretty careful not to state anything definitively about an artist now. But David Lynch creates films and TV about some of the darkest shit imaginable, and the vast majority of people who've worked with him regard him as a genuinely good guy. It can be done.
People always ask me how to handle art we love made by people who are terrible, and the answer differs for every person and every artwork. There is no one standard.

But I tend to skew toward Grace's pov: https://twitter.com/GemOfAmara/status/1359555272461717505?s=19
The exception is people who are awful and actively continue to make lots of money from beloved properties, like, for instance, a certain author of books about child wizards.

Whedon is a terrible person, but if you watch a random Buffy episode, it doesn't particularly enrich him.
