In a thread recently the topic of hidden details came up. I thought it might be fun to share some of the details I’ve worked on for commissions that ended up all but hidden. First, here’s the interior of a BR Mk1 Restaurant Miniature Buffet. No stale sandwiches, sadly.
The driving cab of an LNWR motor-fitted coach. This one was scratch built using photos as reference. All these models are 1/43rd scale, 7mm to 1ft.
A GWR Collett brake third guard's compartment. I had a lot of fun with this one. A works drawing plus photos helped a lot. Extinguisher, first aid cupboard, plus the usual fittings and cushioned back for the seat.
Another Collett brake third guard's compartment. Some of this came in the kit, some is scratch and some from the spares box.
This one is a BR Mk1 brake second. A mixture of kit parts, scratch and spares again.
Finally, a BR Mk2 brake second. I was very happy with this one, egged on by friends to include the track circuit clips as well as the emergency coupling! The clips are hiding behind the brake standard.
