First archetype is early-career support staff (click on photo for more details). The quotes show how busy these folks are trying to find a foothold. This group is young, eager, & predominantly female. Workaholism, burnout, & conflict will worsen unless demands are reduced.
Next is Mid-Career, No Children, Flexible archetype. These folks have realized that having kids and working in college sport is incompatible. Therefore they choose their career over kids. Gender is split. Work engagement accelerates. Little activity outside of work.

Next is Mid-Career, No Flexibility. These folks receive no flexibility to complete their work and it explodes into a number of negative factors. No one has higher workaholism, work-family conflict, and burnout than this group. The gender demographics have flipped, 64% male.
More on archetype 3: These employees put an incredible amount of pressure on themselves. Work is never ending. Their employer saying it needs to be prioritized. Women in smaller #'s bc social norms of starting a family but a work environment makes it impossible to achieve.
Archetype #4 is Mid-Career Parents. We continue to see less women as age and experience increase. Work engagement has increased. Folks are reporting support from their athletic dept's for having kids around but with limitations. Work-family conflict is still very high.
The last archetype is Late Career, Senior Leaders. This group has reached the mountain top! At times they become judgmental of those struggling below them. Their kids are at college or close, leading to less family conflict. Their engagement is off-the-charts. Still high % of men
Below photo is a combo of all archetypes. Our study shows how different archetypes face different struggles. Women are at a disadvantage based on social norms and lack of support within college athletics. Having kids becomes a crossroads. Become a parent or continue my career?
My incredibly intelligent colleagues for this paper were @ErianneWeight @eltay24 & Marlene Dixon. Great work by @cguarneri24 putting together the visuals. If you want access to the paper or want to chat, shoot me a message:

And feel free to click on the attached photos to get more details regarding each archetype. We tried to get a better fit for the photos but I deferred for more information on each one (more likely I need to become more twitter savvy about attaching photos)
