These people make bad decisions & blame other people. They dodge the consequences of their own actions whenever possible. Stop enabling them. Stop making excuses for them. These were full grown adults who made a series of choices that killed people & ruined their lives.
There is no need to try to explain away the racism. These are people who had privilege & money & could not keep up with the Joneses. Or anyone else. Not because they lacked opportunity or access. They lack a moral center? Okay I buy that. They're selfish, lazy, hateful? Yep.
They were grifters, hustlers etc who got conned? Okay. But let's keep it

Rich & wannabe rich racist white people got together to have a coup. That's what happened here. White supremacist logic is always fundamentally flawed, & for once the coup failed. But if the excuses keep being made? The next attempt won't.
