I've counseled too many believers trying to battle sin in their lives w/ weak theology to think that most doctrinal issues are of tertiary importance to body life.

For example...

If you're battling anxiety with a less than robust view of God, your bad theology is harming you.
If you're battling impurity with a Keswick view of sanctification, you are waiting for God to work in a way that he never promised.

If you'e battling depression with a faulty view of revelation, you'll miss all God has said waiting on him to say something else.
If you're battling pornography with an antinomian theology, you're going to weep over your sin for a time and then run right back to it.

If you're battling selfishness with a purpose-driven anthropology, you're going to justify your ambitions not repent of them.
If you're battling the fear of death with a faulty view of sin, you are going to question the goodness of God.

If you're battling despair with the gospel of self-fulfillment, you are never going to be satisfied with what Christ as provided you.
... and on and on it could go.

What you believe impacts every part of your life, which is why you need a deep, thorough, and biblical theology to undergird everything you do.

Can you be saved with a bad theology? Sure! Does that mean theology is unimportant? No!
