My uncle worked as a guard at hotel Kolovare in Zadar around 91'/92'.

Everyday he would play football with the hotels' refugees.

A man approached him one day asking him to train his 5yo son football. He did for a couple of months until he left.

That little kid was Luka Modrić.
You could technically say he was his first coach.

Luka and his family fled to Zadar and settled in hotel Kolovare after Serbs occupied his birth town Zaton Obrovački. He spent almost his whole childhood there, after that he moved to hotel Iž.
My uncle was considered one of the best talents when he played for Zadar. At 17 years old he was getting offers from Josip Skoblar's Dinamo Zagreb and Hajduk.

Tomislav Bašić didn't want to let him go because he wanted him to succeed at Zadar.
