HB2485 will be heard in committee *today* at 2:00 PM.
This is a dangerous anti-first amendment retaliatory bill that would charge a person with a felony even if they do not commit an act of violence or property damage.
It is intended to silence Black and Brown protestors.

SB1125: Allows anyone that attends a protest to be charged with a felony if there was $500 worth of damage and if anyone *perceived* to be law enforcement (including random people with blue lives matter flags) felt intimidated.

HB2309: Creates the felony of “violent or disorderly assembly” and requires the person arrested to be held for at least 12 hours.
It comes with a 6 month minimum sentence and is an attempt by the AZ GOP to criminalize protests.

HB2310: Severely punishes cities if they reduce police department budgets for as little as 10%. The AZ GOP doesn’t care if the quality of people’s lives improve by reallocating funds to helpful programs.

These bills have all been purposely introduced by members of the AZ GOP that have pushed for other voter suppression bills & have attempted to silence protestors fighting against police brutality.
