(1) South Dakota Sports Betting Thread: Senate Bill 44 passed 32-2, looks likely to pass House. This makes sports betting legal in Deadwood city limits. Many SD voters wanted mobile statewide access, but the facts are Governor does not support statewide betting right now...
(2) If a different bill came forward, and Governor vetoed, we would go back to square one in trying to legalize sports betting. I do believe that statewide mobile access will continue to be pursued, and revenue numbers will be analyzed in 2021-22.
(3) Statewide access, regulated through Deadwood...will be a very real step that the Administration will have to look at. Revenue will increase for the state, it just makes sense. This is the first step to more enhancements in the future, if Administration will get behind it.
