My colleague @KatePorterCBC and I will be covering Ottawa city council today. The major agenda item is where to expand the urban boundary. Here are some of the stories we've written about it so far: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/tewin-parcel-details-planners-aoo-1.5901324

The joint-committee approval of add the Algonquins of Ontario and Taggart's Tewin lands to the urban area as part of reconciliation has caused something of an uproar. #ottnews
Some Algonquin leaders are upset about not being consulted, and there are separate concerns about how the property in the southeast corner of the city follows the city's and the province's planning rules. #ottnews
But there's more! Last spring, council voted to protect agricultural lands from development. City planning staff called this area the "Gold Belt." Now it looks like the Gold Belt could be nixed! #ottnews
And among other items is the city's plan to expand the electric kick scooter program, which is of great concern to those with accessibility issues. Here's the background: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/e-scooters-expanded-in-2021-1.5898894 #ottnews
