When I ran for Council, I was told by a wealthy developer that I should talk about how I will represent the whole ward “but we all know it’s the north side that elects you”. The disdain & disregard for hundreds of voters and thousands of OKC residents was palpable & infuriating.
In addition to trying to reach out proactively to folks on the south side of Ward 6 instead of waiting for them to come to me, I’m committed to having a serious discussion about the gerrymandering of the central south side when we look at wards after this Census.
