Every Mortgage Lender in Canada is hiring Underwriters, Sales Staff, Fulfillment, and many other positions

Mortgage Brokerages are hiring saleried staff people and recruiting Mortgage Agents like crazy

Income levels for saleried staff positions have risen steeply since the talent pool of experienced, skilled underwriters and fulfillment staff is limited, good for them

Sadly, on the commission sales side of our business some new people are falling victim to scams

Mortgage Brokerage is the easiest regulated profession to join

A cost of about $1500 and a required licensing and exam process that can only take 3 weeks from start to finish (Hair cutting is much longer and more difficult at 1300 hours) a person can become a mortgage agent

So many people who have seen their careers simply vanish in other sectors have looked to the booming mortgage business

Unfortunately while most Brokerage Owners are honest and professional some might as well have parrots on their shoulders and eye patches

Evil people

They lure new people to their brokerages with false claims of massive training and lead support but actually charge huge "desk fees" charge big money for worthless training, sell the new people garbage leads and basically squeeze every dime from them

Horrible behavior

One large brokerage even pushes a $12K third party sales course but is actually getting a massive kick back from the course provider

On top of all this Brokerages often take 70% of the new agents commission for themselves

Again, the majority of Brokerages are honest

Those who want to join the business: BE CAREFUL

Have a lawyer read the brokerage contract, avoid huge fee operations, investigate the brokerage on line, do massive research

Be warned: no matter what anyone tells you: this business is HARD
