There's a rash of community projects currently raising funds & investment in the Highlands & Islands, which is fantastic.

However many people perhaps don't realise that funding via crowdfunding platforms comes at a cost to the projects (typically 5%)........1/2
......while almost all projects will accept investment directly (you'll usually find details on their websites and/or in share prospectuses), which saves them the 5%.

So consider whether you can pay direct & thus make sure that *all* your money goes to the community 2/2
On a related note, perhaps it's time for a community-based crowdfunding platform to be set up, on a not-for-profit basis? @CommunityLandSc

Lots of potential benefits for both investors and projects.... (3/2)
