So since my brand is minis and dogs (and per my header, dog minis) I wanted to share some stuff I have learned as a potential future SD handler:
There is no *real* Service dog registry. Unfortunately all those are scams, while they give you a paper/badge it means nothing.

Per the http://ADA.gov , there are essentially only 3 requirements for a service dog.
1. The handler must have a disability first and foremost.
1. The handler must have a disability first and foremost.
2. The dog has to be trained in at least 1 task to help mitigate that disability(ies) (you just feeling better when it's around isn't a task. It has to know a trained behavior to help i.e. interrupt/grounding behaviors and DPT in Geist's case are some examples)
3. In a nutshell, you must have total control of the dog, it must be housebroken, and it must be unintrusive. It must be as if the SD was barely there. I.E. NO BARKING AND LUNGING AT OTHER DOGS.
THAT'S IT!
THAT'S IT!
Also there are two questions that can legally be asked to a SD team:
1. Is the dog required because of a disability?
2. What work or task has the dog been trained to perform?
It is illegal to be asked about your disability directly/asked for the dog to demonstrate a task

Pleas note state laws may differ from federal law so if this is a path you want to get educated on for yourself or a loved one or just to know, pleas do research
Fun fact in some states SDiT have same rights as full fledged SDs, but in Ohio that is not the case
UNLESS

A SDiT has full access in Ohio only if it is accompanied by a certified trainer or enrolled in a SD program
That is today's Service Dog Educational tweet thread: here is 1 good boy in training to be among the ranks of goodest boys
