I made this little info graphic this morning. Teacher salaries in Maury County in 2014 vs. 2020. At the bottom, a house that sold in 2014 and 2020. Notice the price/salaries from year to year. Teacher salary has gone up roughly $3500 TOTAL in 5 years, while housing has ballooned.
Rent prices from Walden Creek Apts in SH. 2014 it was $820, 2021 - $1160. Increase of 41.5%. If a newbie teacher in our district was to be hired at the 0 exp, BA salary, $36839 & rented there for $1160 a month, that would equate to 38% of their GROSS income.
