I want to raise a few points which have come up of late with Chelsea. These are points that we've seen for a series of seasons under different managers. I don't want to seem negative because things are looking more promising than before & I fully expect us to keep going.

Formation & lineup - I don't think I can happily say what our best 11 is right now. Tuchel is picking largely off current form but so many of these players only work in certain formations. We are winning yes but the cracks are still there. Square pegs in round holes.

This issue isn't a new one. Frank struggled with selection because the players in the squad seem to fit into other systems & not the 1 he wanted to play. I'm seeing it with Tuchel too. I even saw it with Sarri following Conte. Too many players for different systems.

These are not the managers problems but the boards. They were signed either for the board or for a manager who is no longer in charge. It creates this conundrum we keep seeing & making selection an issue. They can all be good in certain systems but many have real frailties.

I can see what Tuchel is trying to do & I saw what Frank was trying to do. Its about finding a right system with the current players. But they've not had time to really build with what they want & its about "work with what you've got". Right now Tuchel is doing that.

But I can see the recurring problems starting to raise their head again. Its a bloated squad with too many different players for different styles. I hope we can offload some of these in the summer & identify the most versatile/hard-working options for Chelsea in the future.

I also want to address a few other things. Strikers - it's quite simple. Post Costa we haven't had a striker who is doing enough for us. We need a striker getting 20+ goals, if we want to be competing for the title. Its that simple. Werner may get there but needs support.

I need to address this point too. Don't let a purple patch from certain players in our squad fool you again into believing they are good enough for Chelsea. I'm not being abusive, just stating that the bulk of evidence suggests that they aren't the quality we need.

There could be more for different reasons but outside of purple patches none of these players have shown they are up to it over a long period. Nothing personal.

I don't want to be negative & will end more positively as things are looking good for us right now. Tuchel is doing a great job with what he has & has only been in a few weeks. Let's hope we can keep winning. Going to post the team I'd like to see tomorrow. UP THE CHELS!
